A few words from those who weren't able to attend. |

Hi,
Well the Neumans of Florida will not be able to make the event. Unfortunately, we are at the busy time of year and they do not let us take vacations at this time. I know Dad will be there, please say 'Hey' to everyone, we are thinking of you. Have a great Reunion, John and Family
Now, not being in the loop
for several years, heck onwards of 25-30 years, I seem to have lost track
of the Nachreiner/Kriegh family tree. To show you how bad it is, I assume
this is Donna Nachreiner I am sending this email to. I have to admit that
3/4 of the names on the invitation are unknown to me. Due to career,
family, and location I havn't been able to get back to Redding very much
and when I did get to travel to Redding the time was spent mostly with my
sister and late father. I will have to bow out of the reunion as well. I
have a lot of things going on right now.
Am winding down on my
career, planning to retire in June this year, and have to give the process
my full attention. When you work for the government nothing goes
according to plan. So I have to stay on top of the process.
Since I cannot be there
please give my love and best to your mom and dad. I constantly think of
Redding and especially the time spent on the Nachreiner ranch. The
weekends spent there really made an impact on my life. I am
assuming that my sister Kathy and her husband will be attending and
hopefully they will represent me and my family.

Hi there,
Just wanted to let you officially know that I won't be able to make the party. I asked Mom to let you know, but she has been so busy with Floyd that she may have forgotten to do so.
I held off this long to
let you know as I wasn't sure until just this past week. I have been
hired for a new job and will have just started it about 2 weeks before
the party so time off will not be available until later in the year. In
fact, I will probably be in Denver just about the 16th for training. It
is for a mortgage banker here in Cody, doing just about the same thing I
have done for the past 10 years. Really nice people and I am looking
forward to it. My time off has been great, but it is time to go back to
work. If I can, I am hoping to get to Redding in September or
thereabouts.
All else is fine here. We
have a VERY MILD winter for the Rockies. Very dry. If we don't get a
wet snow storm here soon, we are going to be in a world of hurt for
water this summer. We are already in a drought and this winter really
did us some harm.
John and I are keeping
busy just puttying around our place. We finished our equipment shed
this summer for all the trailers and just finally completed a small
arena for him to work his horses. We are getting there, just takes time
and money. We also built a pretty good size deck on the back of the
house. I am hoping to finish the landscaping in the back this summer.
Then next year I will tackle the front yard (hopefully!). It is the
worst. When we bought the place, the people had been gone for about 2
mos and no one had watered anything. So I will need to start from
scratch, but that is OK, as I really want to make it a whole bunch
smaller. The front lawn is HUGE and I hate mowing.......so I plan to
take care of that problem with shrubs, etc.
I started a leather
business in my spare time. I find that I really enjoy it. I am making
purses, etc and leather/silver accented barnwood frames. I attached a
couple of pictures so you could see some samples (just to keep you
updated....) This keeps me very busy, so I am not sure how I will
handle my time when I go back to work. That should be interesting. I
have been selling quite a few items and an gathering quite a bit of
interest in my work. A western furniture maker here in Cody approached
me about doing the tooling for the leather pieces on his furniture. I
don't think anything will come of that, but it sure made me feel good.
This all takes time, but I hope to have quite a few pieces in the stores
for tourist season. Priced right, they should sell very well.
I also have taken up Trap
shooting. I love guns, but hate to hunt, so this was a perfect happy
medium. I love it. My shoulder doesn't though. My first time out, I
couldn't lift my arm for 2 days! But I will get used to it. We have a
really nice gun club and all the people are so friendly and helpful. I
have a great coach. An older gentleman that has done this for years.
He just loves to help people and is very good at it. I am now on the
hunt for my own gun (I am borrowing a friend's shotgun). I looked at
some in Billings on Thursday. Now just need to go back to work and save
my pennies.
Well better go for now.
Say HI to all for me. Hope to see you in the fall.
Karen
